50 Years of Rentamp – From Then to Now

1976 – THE BEGINNING

In 1976, Peter Lang, purchased his first audio console. This marked the humble beginnings of Rentamp, a company born out of the growing demand for high-quality audio equipment in the Groningen music scene.

Initially, Peter supplied sound gear for local bands, including those he performed with, but it wasn’t long before Rentamp became a vital part of the region’s growing music scene.

1976 – 2026

From its early days, Rentamp played a significant role in shaping Groningen’s musical & cultural landscape. The company supported the growth of many iconic events that continue to thrive, such as Noorderzon and Eurosonic Noorderslag. These events have grown into pillars of Groningen’s cultural identity, with Rentamp providing the audio backbone to make it a succes for many years.

Naturally, in the course of time, lighting also became an important part of our company, as we do more and more comprehensive productions. Nowadays this also covers an important part of our dialy work.

As the business expanded, Rentamp forged lasting partnerships with prominent local venues, including  De Oosterpoort (Spot), Vera, and Simplon, becoming their trusted supplier for audio and lighting equipment.
